Thyme Care Medical
Understanding your payment responsibilities
How Thyme Care works with your insurance
Most of Thyme Care's services come at no extra cost to you. Our Nurses and Care Partners help with symptoms, care planning, and support—all covered by your plan or provider.
If you see a Thyme Care provider (doctor or nurse practitioner) for urgent care or other needs, your insurance usually covers it like a regular doctor visit. This means:
- You may need to pay your normal copays or coinsurance.
- If you need prescriptions or medical equipment, those will be billed normally.
- Working with Thyme Care doesn't change your insurance coverage.

How it works:
Before your visit:
We check with your insurance about any payments you might need to make and review them with you.
At your visit:
Copays can be mentioned at the time of visit by our Practice Coordinators, but copays are not collected at the time of the visit, copays are finalized and determined after the visit. After your visit:
If your deductible or coinsurance applies, we'll send you a bill after your insurance processes the visit. What these terms mean
- Copay is a fixed amount you pay for medical services. For example, if your plan has a $30 copay for doctor visits, you'll pay $30 at your appointment.
- Deductible is the amount you must pay before your insurance starts helping with costs. For example, if your deductible is $1,500 and you have a $1,200 procedure, you pay the full $1,200 and have $300 left to meet your deductible.
- Coinsurance is your share of costs after meeting your deductible. For example, with 20% coinsurance on a $100 bill, you pay $20 and insurance pays $80.
If you need more time to pay
If you can't pay at your visit, we'll work with you to find a solution. We can send you a bill after your insurance processes the visit and help you look into financial help options. We also have a Payment Assistance Program for Thyme Care members who qualify based on income. Most importantly, we'll make sure you get the care you need—without extra worry.
